This time the honour was bestowed upon the German automotive company by the WCOTY (World Car of the Year) Awards.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ddrsurrey.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/C-Class.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-310\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ddrsurrey.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/C-Class.png\" alt=\"C-Class\" width=\"1024\" height=\"761\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ddrsurrey.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/C-Class.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.ddrsurrey.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/C-Class-300x222.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Mercedes are no stranger to this particular contest after winning 2014 World Luxury Car award for the <a title=\"S-Class\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ddrsurrey.co.uk\/blog\/category\/s-class\/\">S-Class<\/a> at the WCOTY awards last year. This year, however, see\u2019s the brand score a well-deserved hat-trick.<\/p>\n<p>The Mercedes-Benz C-Class has <a title=\"been declared &quot;2015 Car of the Year&quot;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.wcoty.com\/web\/2015_results.asp\">been declared \u201c2015 Car of the Year\u201d<\/a>. It was chosen from an initial entry list of 24 different vehicles, then a short list of 12, then just 3 finalists: the Ford Mustang, the Volkswagen Passat, and the Mercedes-Benz C-Class.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Dr. Dieter Zetsche, Chairman of the Board of Management of Daimler AG, Head of Mercedes-Benz Cars, said:<em> &#8220;The C-Class is a best seller that has always been a trendsetter in the premium medium-size category. This is true for the new C-Class as well. It comes to the starting line with qualities usually reserved for higher-class automobiles \u2013 ecologically, technically and also with regard to comfort and driving pleasure. It embodies what we understand modern automotive luxury made by Mercedes-Benz to be and has all the prerequisites to be a huge success. Accordingly we are extremely delighted of winning the honour of WORLD CAR OF THE YEAR.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The awards were presented just 2 months after we reported that <a title=\"the new C-Class had won 2 business car awards\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ddrsurrey.co.uk\/blog\/mercedes-benz-c-class-scoops-two-car-of-the-year-awards-for-business\/\">the new C-Class had won 2 business car awards<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe was also a winner bringing home the title of \u201cWorld Luxury Car\u201d, whilst the Mercedes AMG GT won the award for \u201cWorld Performance Car\u201d.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Last week saw Mercedes-Benz pick-up yet another three awards.
